Nigel Norris
Professor Nigel Norris is the Head of the School of Education and Lifelong Learning. His research interests are focused on the history, theory and practice of evaluation, professional education and training and higher education. His main area of specialisation is programme and policy evaluation. He has been involved in a variety of evaluation and research studies including: evaluations of curriculum development and information technology in education; evaluations of police training in the UK and Australia, nurse education, GP training and professional and vocational training policies; curriculum reform in Spain and the reform of the comprehensive school curriculum in Finland; school breakfast clubs in England and the setting up of children's trusts.

- 1999 - 01 Joint director (with Professors Ian Harvey and June
Thoburn) of a multi-disciplinary team evaluating Breakfast Clubs. The
evaluation was funded by the Department of Health.
- 1997 Co-director of a two year evaluation of Co-tutoring for General Practitioners; funded by the King's Fund and Mercers Foundation.
