Announcing the second Web Clinic:

What: An opportunity for anyone to come and ask questions about how to best use the web for research. Individuals or small groups are welcome. Feel free to just drop in or alternatively sign up below. The following types of questions are welcome:

  • How to do ______________ on the EDU research website?
    • edit a personal profile
    • keep a blog
    • access the website on a personal computer
    • add items to the bibliography
    • set up a personal start page
    • start a forum discussion
    • etc.
  • How to best use the EDU research website for a particular project?
  • How to support academic activities online in general?
    • start a website for a conference
    • start a website for inter-organisational projects
    • what online services can be most helpful to share information (video, audio, powerpoint, links, etc.)
  • What tools to use for doing online research?
    • how to keep and maintain a bibliography on the computer and share it online
    • what additional tools can you use to browse the internet
    • how to best communicate over the internet
    • how to organise information found on the internet

Where: We will be using the new meeting room next to the newly refurbished student space

When: Tuesday, 15 March 2008, from 1 to 4 pm and then every other week or as scheduled; Requests for special training sessions for small groups are particularly welcome

Who: All EDU staff and research students are free to drop in
