Blackboard/Portal downtime: 5pm Fri 22 -31 Aug inclusive

Blackboard and The Portal (i.e. the Blackboard Learning System and Community System) are now available again following the work to upgrade to the latest software and replace the hardware. If you are still seeing The Portal down page, try rebooting your computer. If you notice any further problems, could you report them to the staff IT helpdesk (x2345 staff.help@uea.ac.uk).

Blackboard and The Portal (i.e. the Blackboard Learning System and Community System) is currently unavailable until Monday 1st September to upgrade both systems to the latest software and replace the hardware. During the downtime, a limited version of the Portal will be available. This will include links to key services such as phone and email search, webmail, library catalogue, room bookings and departmental websites. All resources will be available again once the service is restored after 31 August. Our apologies for any inconvenience this causes.

Work on the UEA Website: 19th August from 5pm onwards

This evening there will be work taking place on the UEA website which will mean that the Polopoly editor will be unavailable from 5pm onwards. It also means that the public website should be seen as at risk. This work is to result in pages created in Polopoly having the web address http://www.uea.ac.uk and due to the complex nature of the work there may be some issues in the next few days with web addresses and linking between pages. Please report any issues found to alison.dyer@uea.ac.uk

Email server maintenance - Wednesday 20 August 17.30-18.30

Essential maintenance work will be carried out on the student and staff/postgraduate mailservers on Wednesday 20 August from 17:30 - 18:30. During this time there will be no access to email accounts held on these servers (imap.uea.ac.uk, pop.uea.ac.uk, smtp.uea.ac.uk, smtpstudent.uea.ac.uk). This will NOT impact Exchange users.

Due to essential work to increase available file storage space, the Faculty of Health staff and post graduate filestores will be taken offline at 5:30pm on Monday 18 August. These filestores contain users' central filestore documents. Users with documents in these areas should log off before 5:30pm to avoid losing any data. Schools/Departments affected are HPP, HSW, IOH, MED, NAM, OPT. The staff mail server will also be shut down for the duration of the work and as a result it will not be possible to send or receive emails during this time. This will affect all staff. The work should be complete before 6pm on the same day. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Work on the ISD website 15-17 August
