Research at the School of Education and Lifelong LearningThe School of Education and Lifelong Learning contributes to educational knowledge and understanding by producing relevant applied research and by supporting practitioners and organisations in the translation of research into policy and practice. It is nationally and internationally recognised for its work in educational innovation and social change; literacy and development; and mathematics education. The School had considerable success in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise, with a very significant portion of our research judged as being world leading or internationally significant. We were also recgonised for our work with doctoral students, and for our national and international presence. This places us in the top tier of UK institutions.
